from: http://www.antiflash.net/supergrass/download.html within the official help file it says: (in the download zip) did you read that? so to me it reads like this: copy the "grass.dlo" into your 3dsmaxFolder/plugins i.e C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 9\plugins ... and follow the rest of the instructions edit: btw. hair…
Have you tried the Shortcut Override Toggle? If that doesn't work, delete the 3dsmax.ini...it is hidden somewhere in Application Data and is not deleted when un-/reinstalling Max.
delete your 3dsmax.ini file (or rename the extension to something clever, like .bak, .old, .wtf, .gay, .etc). that contains all your preferences and non-default settings.
Hey, I found a couple of things that might help. First of all you can turn on a frame rate feature for the viewport of 3ds Max. This might help you judge the performance a little bit better. Open up your max folder and find the file called 3dsmax.ini. Open it with Notepad. Find the entry called [Performance]. Add a new…
I tried replicating your problem. In the 'Render Settings' dropdown, make sure it's set to whatever renderer you want to use (most likely 3dsmax.scanline.no.advanced) instead of being blank.
I'm quite pleased that works. Thanks! I was under the impression Vray was in beta testing for maya or something. I'm fluent in 3dsmaxanese too so I can use it there I suppose. While I'm here do you know of any good metal ray type info spots? rtfm?
Once i render a object it brings up a current display of the model. At the top of this page is a save image button. You can click that then look for save image as file type. Then just select where you want the picture to be saved to. Just figureing out the basics here for 3dsmax11.Its a fun little program and i cant ait to…
Ahh you're too quick for me, I was editing my post to be more clear hahaha =P I do High (low poly prep) > higher (sculpt) > low (final low poly) > unwrap > texture. Sometimes doing the low involves going back to the original high and turning down the number of loops if everything is still created out of primitives, or…
You mean when you frame your selection with the z button? This happened to me recently. I couldn't figure out what did it but I saved my color schemes and keyboard shortcuts then deleted my 3dsmax.ini and let it build a new one with defaults when I started it up again. After that the problem was fixed. Edit: Also I think…
Hi there Andrew. You could do something pretty similar with shaderFX, but it's probably easier to port the code manually as CB did with my brdf shader (http://www.luxinia.de/index.php/ArtTools/3dsmaxFX). Somebody had a similar idea on another board…
