just one question. I dont wanna see backfaces, but I still want to have them selected whilst the front faces are moved, and move along with the front faces. This way I can line-up the front faces with my front reference image and know that backfaces are following too, without the backfaces interfering.
I wish I could play skyrim without real life troubles interfering. I just want one day where my mind is completely blank of all other issues, sit down, and play skyrim. I get so much more into it if I dont get random thoughts of assignments etc.
"Good" or "Appropriate" texture resolution is usually more determined by how large/prominent the object will be on screen. You want enough resolution in the texture to keep things from looking blocky or blurry. Setting a standard based on the objects physical size in the game world is often a good way to keep things…
The thing about the island was I was going to have draw up concepts for everything. You saw the two ship drawing right? They were my ideas so it requires a lot more abstract thinking because none of it was real yet. I already have the blueprints for the Bus and I can just step outside and already see what needs to be…
I think most people who move up from QA to full time positions dont move up to a skilled department like art, they generally move up to design, hr or community positions. This isnt to say design isnt a skilled department, just that you as an artist you cant just jump into max/maya and be great, it takes hundreds of hours.…
Fair point on the diffuse. That makes sense for a material that is completely metal, but if you have a texture with multiple material definitions, you'll need to have the differentiation, or some form of mask that you would then lerp in a color value from a constant 3. It is an interesting option, but I think you can forgo…

Then they fucking 180 and show their true self. Ive never had any interaction with…
Yeah I understand this generally(not as well as CB of course) but still, I dont think that is cause for giving out general advice of "dont use rectangle textures" or "dont use anything but 512x512" =P Generally, your tech team should be majorly involved in this and tell you what is optimal to use with your specific tools.…
AmbiguousPackage: Thanks for the link. I used it to download references. |They have nice collection and pictures are focused on details and are highres. Great help and i had to redo some parts which at first time just guessed by hand made scalled models. hehe Xoliul: All you said makes sense. I went as you suggested across…
Right. I think there's some confusion, I'm not here to judge people, I've been the guy making the "OMG SO AWESOME" post more times than I care to remember, if you're that guy, it doesn't mean you're a bad person or anything like that. It is a missed opportunity though. Look at this from a different angle, I think we can…
