Thanks for the encouragement to quickly answer some of the questions The roots were made by creating renderable splines for the large ones and modeling them out in a sculpt package although i didnt go very highpoly with them. Well yeah Mop I did try the 'smart' technique : laying down nice overlapping scales on a square, extracting 16bit depth using MRGBZGrabber, applying that as displacement on nice relaxed UVs ... but for this one scenario, even with the added controls of the editable UV mapping ... it just didnt look that good. Yeha had a good laff at that last night. They probably saved her $16k (minus the 800 she gave away) by denying her, since I doubt she could have sold them on eBay like she thought. There were more than enough phones available to meet the initial demand I think. -
