Microsoft seems trying to do their best in making Windows as painful for pro users as they could. Looks like it's their true hidden purpose and never ending quest. In evry new version they kill something convenient and replace it with useless crap. I now have to stare at blinding white backgrounds in file manager since…
Thanks! The books were the most satisfying part for me as the whole thing felt off before I got them in the scene. It's only 5 different models, each with a unique set of details on the texture sheet. The heavy lifting is really being done by the master material I made in UE5 that's giving color and wear variety based on…
So... I liked my desert environment but wanted a ship background as well. I downloaded a free 'sci-fi' corridor but it wasn't giving the right vibes so I ended up making a super quick ship background last weekend based on some in game screenshots. And look, I'm not an environment artist, I won't pretend to be one, but this…
Thanks for the feedback. I completely agree about the texture/material. When I first started this I was trying to picture what a current gen BL2 would look like. I was picturing something more PBR heavy. I had read up on the Star Citizen stuff and thought it would be cool to interpret the BL2 world in that way. I thought…
The best thing you can do is experiment. If the wall is plaster and exposed bricks you want to have a texture dedicated to plaster, one one for the bricks provided the bricks and wall are not the same material. If that is the case you might be able to just have seamless texture for the wall that gets reused on the bricks.…
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/0lWoNV Hello everyone, I'm making one of the most hated characters of the second season of the Arkane series again. I still think that she was not treated fairly at all. She is sweet, kind and responsive!!! At the end of the series, she did not betray, it was revenge for treason! P.S.…
So far I find it best for doing various edge masks just on top of a final normal map . Tried to make it work in Painter but as always it's weird and never same , works only on square textures i.e a dead end. Want to recreate it for Blender shader editor. I see it sort of shift iteratively in x and y positive and negative…
that doesnt look like a baking error, but a "simple" projecttion error? what does the baked mesh look like without the texture applied? a quick hacky fix would be masking the edges and highlighting them to blend the top end the side together a bit more.
Hello!, I'm working on a project for Uni to create the Interior of a Room, which will end up in Unreal.I am replicating the town of Bellhart from Hollow Knight Silksong, which is a 2D / 2.5D game. I'm going to adapt it's stylised illustrated elements into semi-stylised real-time Assets. I'm currently modelling some of the…
A couple of things that kind of stood out to me about your video. If I recall, the subject of your dissertation was "How environment artists create horror sets" or something along those lines? I feel like a lot of the success in horror sets are the props that populate the scene and tell a story. I remember in Silent Hill 3…
