Yeah, I can definately see the strength in starting with cylinders that have defined numbers. I actually cut into the geometry to create the circles using splines as a guide to make sure they were circular. If I'm making a low poly it's going to come back and bite me lol.
Thanks for the crits StJoris. I have tried to fix the neck rings and define the nose better, which other features do you feel need defining? I want to keep this a Sphynx head so I do not want to add any human facial features.
Nice headdress ! I think you sould rework the cheeks and the chin a bit, and the jawline in general. The cheeks are too defined, they almost look "fake", but the chin and jawline aren't defined enough. It's clearly visible if you compare the 3/4 views of your model and the ref.
I think on the head you could benefit from defining some of the key shapes a bit more, like the cheek bones, eyebrows and jaw. Maybe make the shapes a bit more angular and defined rather than blobby and smooth like you have now.
Runs like butter on an i7 4770, 8gb ram and 560ti (which is below the minimum). As far as Metal Gears go, it's definately on the crazier supernatural side, but I suppose it would be just another (albeit damn good) stealth game otherwise. Definately worth buying!
Take another look at your hips and follow alemja's paintover. You should really be defining the illiac crest and the muscles over it and not the bottom of the pelvis. Also, your calf muscles are in serious need of overhaul. Also, maybe get in there and define the muscle group behind the pecs, below the armpit.
To me it seems his arm muscles are way too much defined. Like if he spends hours in gym bodybuilding. I always imagined dwarfs would have more of a strongman body-type. Something like this. Still huge, but more bulky, less defined muscle groups.
How about something like this, Suburbbum? Edit on the right. smoothed the edge of her face as it was a bit too defined, shrank the chin just a bit, moved the corners of her mouth up a bit so her frown isn't so defined, and smoothed the nasal labial folds a bit.
More progress on textures, I plan to get them to a refined state by the end of this week. Any feedback is welcome and much appreciated. Also I cannot decide if I should use a white background or a darker background. So any advice on that would be helpful. (the light background variant is on the next message because for…
I like the painting style of this character. Though the legs and arms definately need some more love (which was stated), but once those areas are painted up to match suit the rest, it'll definately be a strong model. As for the shoes, refer to aesir's post. Keep it up. -caseyjones
