We had a rep here saying one of the major reasons for changing 200 licences from 7 to 8 was the increased stability. Was he just BSing? Have they finally admitted that 7 has some stability issues just as a ploy to sell more seats to ver.8.? tpe -
Correct topology for intrusions/extrusions on mech sub-d?
Hey, I'm trying to work out how to convert a 8 point octagonal shape into a 4 sided face. (see attached image) It's great for smoothing into a round shape for mechanical detailing but I'm unsure of the topology to reduce the outer edges from 8 to 4 whilst keeping quads or if it's possible. Thanks in advance! -

Isn't character and vehicle a bit much for 8 weeks? Escape had 10 weeks for character, environment or vehicle and Brawl has 7 weeks for a character or environment. Answer: 8 weeks should be fine. You're also welcome to team up if you find it a bit tight. -

I definitely remember a thread on here a while back in which someone stated something along the lines of: "Use generic units and set home grid settings to 16, 8, 8" You can access the home grid settings by right clicking the snaps icon, there will be a tab for it. -

Using maya 2014 64bit with windows 7 and a hd 6950 with no issues. Your problem might be a bad installation of windows 8. I am not sure if windows 8 has comparability mode like windows 7 and vista but if it does try setting it to windows 7 and run it. -

I tried that just now and it gave me the shitty 8 bit swirls when I tested it in zbrush I also tried saving as a psd, jpeg, png, and tiff, still get the same result, either the weird pixelated version or the 8 bit swirled version -

Fixes posted for 27 and 32: 27. User Title is showing old rank titles in some users' Profiles, which looks like a duplicate rank. (fixed 8/10) 32. Missing icon for Sketchfab embed button at far right end of editing toolbar. (fixed 8/10)
