@Wolves Thanks man ! I contacted Dylan about the small hair brush as well so I might be able to release it soon :) @leopenaranda Cheers :) More today ! @NNKD Thank you very much :) It would definitely be super interesting to have some of their top art people talk about it. From what I understand, it's all about letting out…
Alright, I have managed to make quick normal maps that only softens hard edges without creating high polys. It is not that hard actually. There is no need for curvature map information. I will explain in case of anyone might want to try. Just select every single hard edges and cut out in UV Editor to seperate UV Shells for…
22inch is not necessarily a big drawing surface, considering that it is probably a 16/9 format and you'll only ever use the center square. I've actually tested this on my 21UX (which is 4/3 already), by taping off the sides of the screen to see what I actually use. Turns out my actual useful drawing surface is more or less…
TGA is uncompressed: It's like a flattened PSD, you can count on every pixel bieng where you placed it when you open it up. If you're going to be importing and compressing the textures later for use in an engine considering they normally have their own compression method. You probably do not want to compress already…
So, I'm having a blast here learning and experimenting with so many new things. This is the current state of the scene: Since the last update I added the following: - Foreground rock(s). It's iterated three times but it's just one model. My first ever sculpted rock! - Stone path. This took me some time to figure out/chose…
Cheers, glad you liked it guys \m/ yeahhh hoo yeahh \m/ well i worked on my first sculpt (the base for the deformed one, may be I could grab a shape-map/ vector map , and morph the low poly in engine in the future?!!! is it possible?!!! search needed, ha ha ), when I saw how many assets every one is making, I though may be…
Micheal, let me show you what odForce is totally missing to become home for game artists: http://polycount.com/discussion/68788/tech-artist-what-are-you-working-on-forever-edition/p1 http://polycount.com/discussion/120427/pixel-art/p1 http://polycount.com/discussion/163000/what-are-you-working-on-2d-2016/p1…
I think you got some great feedback here already, so really don't have much to add. But the main issues I'd see is how the stuff used for this barrier probably has been weathered for some time. The metal plates are better now, I like the color better. The tires look like they are a bit weathered on the sides but the tread…
I grew up behind consols and so the whole faster and more accurate to me is just bollox. Sure as in facts it it might just be, but you still have to be able to use it. A high sensetivity on the consol can make my aim fly just as fast. The difference between a mouse and stick, is the way to stop it. You might say that one…
Try making the background static so the software generating your GIF can optimise it out. This optimisation writes static pixels once and reuses them for the next frames until they change, reducing filesize. The animated background you have in there isn't doing anything really important to complement the subject anyway.…
