I think that couch looks kinda blocky and hard, I think you could afford to add some more tris in smart places to give it a more comfy look! Here's a good example of a low-poly chair:
You definitely have to know when to stop. Adding detail that will never show up in a normal map is burning money and time that could be spent on another asset, for example. Deadlines override your desire to noodle towards perfection. :)

For items without collisions, you could use a material which utilizes the world position offset. A good example would be foliage scaling and rotating randomly based on it's world position. It could even change textures and tint colours.

I would also wish to have a nice place for fx artists because in my old and also in my new company i have to do some effects but couldn't find good tutorials and tipps for example for explosions.
You might want to hide the ears and hairs for now, as you tackle her face first. You got an ok topology there, so just tweak em around to get the right form. Here's an example from HazardousArts
That looks awesome. It's built really smartly and the composition is fantastic. I really like the water shader, it's one of the best I have seen in UDK. This is very inspirational and an example of good environment. I vote for adding this to the banner rotation :)
