Hello everyone! First time trying something out like this. I´m gonna take on the faun/goat character. Started off with searching some reference and setting up a timeline. Here my PureRef draft. Did I miss out on any major aspect (excluding the hammer part)? Good luck and happy new year to everyone!
Jep, my Pureref file is full of 1/100 images : ) I don´t know, but I thought the 100 scale model has more detail? But to be honest, I didn´t notice much difference.
Thanks alot! it is something i was wondering too, if i should take the ref-images out of zbrush and use it with "PureRef" or a similar software. I guess i will just have to try what fits better in the end
I think you should try looking for some solid reference of what you want to aim for. Obviously you won't get the exact scene you want but some images with the kind of lighting you want and some with maybe the vibe you want to emulate. Bring those into a pureref board to sit beside your workspace to see what elements you…
is there any free or open source software like " pureref " which will allow me to inspect each channel of texture map? like i would just drag-drop the map and then i can see each channel presents in the map. is there any? (windows 10)
Better use one of the reference programs[image viewers] that have option to sit on top of everything so you don't have to alt -tab all the time ,something like ACDsee, ReferenceTool, kuadro or PureRef what ever works for you
Still alive, Having some trouble since my second monitor broke. Hard to use references and work with just one, Pureref is helping but tabbing out for anatomy references(Pdf) is pretty difficult. Will continue the vampire soon, and hopefully get him finished and textured rather quickly! Currently working on. Will refine the…
Hey Kiana, check out this post that links to a repo of high res Asaro Head photos. Pick up PureRef and toss em in there for reference! Cheers https://polycount.com/discussion/76733/john-asaros-planes-of-the-head-high-res-photos/p1
This sounds like good fun, I look forward to following along. Since you're barely started, my advice is to gather a ton of reference (mood, lighting, massing/shape language, for each and every material, etc.) and use PureRef to organize it all.
Boots: As always, I try to find good references (Hint: to display and collect reference images I use "PureRef") I modeled the base in Maya with the help of referencing those images, after that, I imported that in ZBrush and prepared it for further refinement detailing the boots:
