lookin nice man. main problems i see is that your large scale changes arent happening at the high up camera angle youve got. the reuse becomes too noticeable. try some mixmaps to blend between different materials. added a constrain to gizmo option (some interesting maths to solve it) so the field can be moved "as one"..... unfortunate this led to some dreadful flicker in the modifier ui :( I was going to show the code solution but it's a waste of time struggling with the nutty formatting on here! :/ -

Okay,I have been reading u can downgrade the resolution and size of your fg map.Say if u were rendering at 1080p,can u use a fg map of 960 x 540p?or 720p will be the best res to use. I have heard flickering is mainly caused by not having enough inital fg density points, hence Mental ray has to compute additional ones.I… -

That depends on the settings and what is happening in the scene. You will never get flickering in a animation rendered in default scanline, its going to be a lot faster than default MR and Vray. Distributed luminance maps or not. Vray's luminance map are great as long as nothing is really moving around in the scene. If… -

yep. Single meshes work best. If you intersect polygons they flicker. The only way around it is to make everything double sided but then you get a performance hit. shame really, as the other engines like sandy don't flicker at all. -
