wow, what a beautiful art dump, thanks especially for uploading all these plants! In some screenshots with characters it looks like there MIGHT be some kinda subsurface scattering but i'm not sure. Would it be possible to apply even a fake sss on the leaves? :o
It is not possible to bake sub-surface scattering, as it is a dynamic effect that depends on the position of the light(s). If you want to upload a 3D model to the web with our SSS shader, you can use Marmoset Viewer which is included with Toolbag, and upload it to ArtStation.
thx spitty also tweaked my material: Strange that the specular gets blue when sss shines through. @ Slaught I bet you have to set up something in the import settings to get the opacity working right, but dont know
Regarding materials I now have a shader with colorizable rimlight, fake sss and hopefully other fancy things soon. Will post it later if anyone interested. Here with 512*512 maps two default lights and one Roboblitz skylight. Wooo.
Time to upgrade, is it reasonable to think I can purchase all the parts needed and assemble my first pc for under $1000 CDN? I can figure something out if it's more but it would be nice to keep below if possible I'm hoping people will help me out with mobo's, CPU's, etc as that all goes over my head a bit. WISH LIST: 16GB…
Hey, I experience awful blender performance when switch to edit mode even with low to mid poly models (50k etc.). Is there a magic button in the settings that i missed to enable? I got rtx 4080 with i9 14900 and whatever ssd and ram that is best.
[ QUOTE ] John: Two things that you may or may not have sussed about your web design problems. It all has to do with how HTML amd CSS get rendered by the browser. One, putting that line of code at the beginning of your page lets the browser know exactly what flavor of HTML you were intending to use. So much for standards,…
It might be better to just make the paper translucent and not SSS. I'd also put lights in front of the paper, it'd be easier to control the look of the lighting. Remember this is a video game scene, lights don't have to be placed realisticly as long as it looks good.
Thanks wolfonthehorizon and yodude87, i'll change the details if I get a chance. The deadline is closing in on me. Quick update. First pass on the colour. The material used is from Eat 3d Zbrush SSS tutorial. Hands still need to be sorted out.
Update: I re-sculpted the pants and added a swordbelt & sash. I also brushed some red into the emissive to give his nose and ears a slight SSS effect. I plan on finishing the sash and sword belt today then moving on to the cloak.
