Get a good gaming card, don't worry about quadro and stuff. Using a 1080ti here, I couldn't be happier. Even if you're not worried about rendering, lots of vram is also good for Substance Painter for example
oke I still have this problem and I do not know what is causing it. I made a quick example to demonstrate the issue I have with grabdoc. It basically isn't displaying any height information within the alpha:
Really nice work Simon! you might want to try out more with some interesting lighting. look at this example of Patrick Sutton, he has a pretty good light setup that make the material really pop
Ultimately it is your work so if you see something else and want it a certain way that is fine. Also another example with the door opened a bit: Weld detail would be done in Zbrush, it can be done in other programs.
I don't think it has anything to do with asymmetry, but more on areas of focus. For example, I have this feeling the subdermal map is farily uniform across the body, or areas could be darker in value comarative to other areas.
Here are a few different ways you could route your edge loops to get rid of ngons. The third example is the least efficient since it creates edges that don't contribute to the shape of your low poly model.
How is the png and tiff format supported in Toolbag 2 ? I'm doing some tests currently and I get very strange renders with a 16bits png (as if it was in 8bits) and with a tiff 16/32 bits (totally broken). For example :
Respect the artist's decision to put their art out as creative commons or not lest we return to the age of secretive guilds with closely guarded secrets. Polycount is the perfect example of a free exchange of ideas that doesn't involve copyright infringement.
Thanks for the feedback really appreciaet it, made he nasolabial fold less visible, but about his eyes, I think it also depends on the ref, for example in this one : http://i.imgur.com/UAmT1.jpg it looks abit deeper
Thanks for this. Now that you mention it I see the lack of material definition and how it make the monthly challenge scene for example seem almost flat. Thanks for the links about bevelled edges should help me loads!!.
