Having recieved some feedback on the mountain I went back and remade it, to make it both sharper and get the shapes better. Not impossible I'll go back later either. But will make a material for it and try that out first, and add the vegetation ofc.
Thanks guys! I've finished the base terrain and its layers. Next up is vegetation and trees. Been waiting for a while to get to the plants, hopefully it will be fun. Here are some reference images for the direction i'm going on with the vista: reference images
It seems a little empty. Maybe add more trees and vegetation. You have a pile of wood but not a lot of trees which seems weird. I guess he chopped them all down for wood so maybe add a lot of stumps?
Thanks everyone for the feedback :-) I added some geometry to the vegetables in the basket and a few texture details. Thanks for the tip. I like it beeter know. I am going to leave it like this and start to work on something new now. Here the result:
Looks great so far! The shading on some of the foliage could be improved I think. Did you tweak the vertex normals at all? http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/VertexNormal#Foliage_Shading Also adding some different vegetation would help as well.
Mens Health is a catelog with no concern of factual information or your health. Food labeled as "healthy" or "diet" is not. If your great grandfather wouldn't recognize it as food, you shouldn't either. Buy foods that spoil (fresh fruits, vegetables, lean meats, etc.).
I really love this, great work. I know it's not in the original concept, but maybe some overhanging grass/vegetation could add something to it? Would be quite cool to have a bird's nest up on those cliffs too, just for fun! :D
if people dont have stable lives such that they can play video games, how will VR become the future of games? and somebody doesn't want to vegetate in a chair after working all day? They'd rather work up a sweat? what has social media won that games have not? Are they in some contest? is there only one winner? I thought…
Thanks! I'm working on the stone island/ruins which I hope will break up the color a bit, but I completely agree it need more vegetation, mosses and molds. I might have been too careful with keeping the wood clean.
