3dsmax is the only program that can properly export ghoul2 models with skeletons unfortunately :\

Well as it turns out this script is limited and i found an alternate exporter that works better.

separating the mesh by id would be pointless as that's what happens anyway either by the exporter or by Unreal. You'll have to look elsewhere for optimizations.

Go with Unreal. Maya does not have the tools and in the end you have to export it anyways.
