Hello Guys, I started a new model, this time I am going to create armour all in Zbrush, not going to us any other software till Hires, so here is my start and the Concept is from amazing Artist Dean Holdeen. any feedback will be appreciated, thanks in advance. Concept by Dean Holdeen
Welcome to poly count I like the concept for the armour. I would love to see ya go back in and keep to the concept on that. But yes, jocose is right about the anatomy. For a first organic model though, not bad at all. My first one was pretty pitiful to be completely honest so good job. Keep on practicing!
Here's the finished HP sculpt. I made a design change where i completely got rid of the shoulder armour. i thought design wise it didn't make sense at all to have that sort of 'heavy' looking equipment for a archer. This way i feel like the character is more balanced.
Wake, thanks for advice, I will try to incorporate all that next time. Really appreciated. An AA-tank am trying to to design at the moment, just a WIP. "reactive armour" and some kind of mechanical grip (bit thundertank). And some sketch pad stuff I wont be using. Forgive no scanner.
Hey, thanks for the feedback silver. I did redesign it a bit in terms of the shape and armour. I worked from a few reference images but changed some things. I still need to texture this model and the render I took was on a pretty basic set up so that is something I will work on.
I beg you to make a video of your process, please!! Even just a small section, like a piece of armour and/or part of a body. There is nothing at all available that demonstrates good stylized painting skills like this online. The school I study at is really bad and I'm desperate for external help =[.
A few hours progress on her today, working a little more on the anatomy and also blocking in some armour pieces. Not sure what it is but something still seems off to me- I feel like she looks kinda stylised but I'm not sure whether that's just because of the early stage that I'm at.
Ok, so Ive gotten the textures done. Still quite a bit of work to go. Ive got to pose him, texture the armour, create a simple background and a final render. Then comes further polishing in photoshop, making it as pro and presentable as I can get it. _______________ My website
Hey everyone. This will be my first time ever trying one of these contest things. I've always wanted to do them, but usually don't have the motivation. I'm hoping to at least use this as an excuse to finish something. I dunno what much to say about my beast. classic beast in tattered armour. But I wanted to avoid fur so…
If you don't have a poly count restraint, I might suggest a little more bevel on the low poly for the sharp edges, especially around the beak. Those sharp edges don't really help convey the thickness of the spaced armour. That's going to require another bake tho :( Are you painting in Substance Painter? It looks really…
