Heya so iv stored a morph target so i can fix up the edges, but the issue i have is when it nears the middle i cant get it to overlap at all. I was wondering if this is just a trial and error thing or if there is a better method for getting nice patterns onto a piece like this (its sci fi Armour)
Heya guys! Jumping onto the fun train here! I've started with the cycle part using prolly half a day yesterday. Still going through the concept of my character, but all the rigs I run are pretty generic. I'm working on personalizing it throwing some armour or weapon pieces. Will come back with a WIP on this thread, so... :)
Working on a new character. Not working from a concept, but I'm going for a Samurai/Viking-esque hybrid style warrior. Still blocking out the different armour pieces (going back and forth between max and zbrush). Any ideas/suggestions/critiques are welcome!
Do these methods only apply to hard surface things? What about organic characters that have armour for example? I've only heard about this type of workflow being used on Star Citizen, are there any other major titles that choose this sort of method?
i assume you are basing it off of the DK2 version of the horned reaper(always preferred the original), looks pretty good so far, i think his horns could be a little longer, and dont forget about the armour/accessories he has
A few suggestions; - 3/4 views - Game-size images - Smoothing the normals on the models - Have the information on the side - Upload as a .psd and have layers with/without weapons/armour - Add more space around the model, there's barely any room to add stuff - Portait view of each hero
Made some progress. Splayed out and bent the fingers a bit, tweaked the torso to an extent, and modelled all the armour and clothing pieces. Not planning to rig the model, so I'll manually drag the wings into place during posing. Sculpting and texturing left. Comments and criticism greatly needed and appreciated.
SLAMMACOW!!! gotta get into that 3d conceptin... High captain in the troll armies, muchos experience. Has his armoured pig steed and a lance or halberd... i swear it'll make more sense eventually (and yeh i been watching way too much adventure time still ^^)
Cheers both of you, soon as im back from my holiday Ill probaly beef another 500 tris onto him for fur and loops, planning to do plenty animation with him . then probaly another 1k tris on armour and wepons then whatever is left probaly on misc stuff..
grungy/rusted edging is legit, pilang, 'cause old school tanks had gaps where shit could gather and decay in the seams of the armour. The texture's well made (not saying it couldnt use a tune up) but the model's letting it down. What did you use for modelling reference?
