Does it crash straight away or only when you're doing something specific? Freezing sounds a lot like RAM issues, as if it's either defective, exhausted and swapping to a slow disk, or there's no program to kill programs that use too much RAM to protect the OS from freezing. Newer Blender versions feel like they need more… -
