HDD failure is a fact of life even with SSD. What you do to prepare for it is the thing that matters most. Picking up a SSD big enough to hold an OS is at least $70 (16GB). -

Harddrive speed is also a big factor. I noticed a big jump in performance whenI installed an SSD. If you can get a SSD and set the scratch disk to it at least that would improve the performance. -

+1 for SSD I remember booting up 3DS Max at school and on my home computer (that has a SSD) and the load times are night and day. It might cost more but it's worth every cent. -

I'm hoping for a hybrid ssd hdd system to speed up streaming, games are getting bigger and I don't see ssd being cheap enough by it self to allow be to install a bunch of games. -

I know you think you've got this all down because you saw a couple Youtube videos and read a magazine, but I swear to you that many scientists are debating the validity of different parts of evolution and some of the validity of evolution itself.
