stevston89, you're right. I'll make a second pass aftar all this texturing thing will sink into my head, I'm really new to it and still fascinated by clean metallic look in this game generation. P.S: Your dagger was the things that inspired me the most for this, thanks!
I really like your portfolio and being able to view your assets in 3d space is quite nice. As an environment lover, your The waste piece is really cool, extremely well composed and edited...good music choice too A++ work Inspirational stuff !
Didn't Samwise sketch out a Chinese panda years (2003?) before Kung Fu panda came out in 2008? It might have even been the inspiration for the movie, heh... Haven't WoW nerds been crying for a Pandarian race since WoW was in Alpha?
If I were you I'd do as you posted in your first post and hand paint it. You model really screams for it in my opinion. You can probably find alot of inspiration from the skeletons in Diablo 3 or World of Warcraft if you need it ^^
Really cool stuff, you inspired me to give fur a shot one day ;) not today but one day. The materials read well to me, the fur is the best part for me even though the pale leather looks really good as well. :)Me likes.
@Snefer: Ahh cheers dude that means a lot, your High poly work has been a great inspiration to me and I loved all your wolfenstein work! @Rumkugel: What Podracers did you build? Glad you all liked the breakdown!
I'll second that. Got it for Christmas, if you want inspiration for anything Sci-Fi, look no further, it's fantastic. Also, I just bought book 1 of 2 of the "Structura" series of illustration/concepts by Sparth. Really great resource, I would definitely recommend it.
if you dont mind, i made a paintover. it addresses a lot of the issues visually so you have a list of things to knock out. i suggest looking at other artists portfolios, like Sze Jones for example, for some inspiration and so on. good luck
@ng.anika thank you so much for you words! really inspirational and motivational, especially to a young student artist like myself. @Littlenorwegians, don't give in! I am much like you and I believe the only enemy is yourself here, so fight on :)
Ha, awesome! I've been thinking of doing this too at some point, also inspired by vesner. I think the brick needs more holes caused from air bubbles during the brick-baking process, and the toolbox latch is too dull for how clean it is.
