Have you tried using Transfer Maps instead of Convert to File texture? Works like a charm. You'll need a temporary duplicate of your building to bake from.
Yeah their hosting is pretty lousy. My little video I put up already exceeded their 1 gigabyte transfer limit. The software is still quite cool though.
this has been one of my favorite works in a while the amount of detail your packing on this is really amazing to be honest. I cant wait to see this transferred to low poly!
For polypaint, perhaps you could move them to auto uvs, and use xnormal or a similar app to transfer it to your custom uvs? http://eat3d.com/zbrush-xnormal-pipeline
suppose it easier for an environment guy to transfer his skills than a character guy. I mean there is limited choice here, either back to illustration or selling big issue:)
oh yes, ofcourse, master chief is such an astounding character and would easily be transferable to film....making a movie of halo would be like making a movie of Doom..oh..wait...
