Yes, especially if you can fit it in right now. I got really lucky and was able to burn a lot of those hours during uni, so I wouldn't have to spend those initial chunks of time later on. I think you're hindering your ability to learn by trying a likeness study when you're clearly struggling with basic anatomy. If you don't concentrate on getting the proportions/measurements right then you will never achieve realism. As it is you are still very far from realism. That's a nice ladder. :) Where you see Contrast, pick Lens Effect Glow. Hit OK to close the dialog, then double-click the Glow filter event to re-open it (this initializes the internal preview, you'll see). Click the Setup button to start editing the glow.
