This tank from the first link (Ben Bolton) is so nice, thanks for digging this up ! Reading up on it agin in his original thread , he is achieving this look by baking from very simple highs and then scaling down the resulting textures by a factor of 8 (from 2048 down to 256). Really inspiring work.
Thanks Equil. Do you mean grade as in 'school grade', or grade as in JLPT? The app I'm using organises lists for both school level and JLPT. £6.99, it's here: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/japanese/id290664053?mt=8 I use that for Kanji, and I used this to learn Hiragana/Katakana.…
It's hard to estimate if you're not used to working 8 hours days in a studio. Did it take you 16 hours to reach that point? That seems a bit slow tbh, the thing on the left is not finished and I wouldn't call that game-ready. If you find that out of 8 or 16 hours you're only getting a couple of hours effective time then…
I can agree with some of the points, bad wording here and there but what's important is that I understand the message. My girl keeps telling me the same on a weekly basis... And before that, it used to be my mom, I never listened! I even heard it from some co-workers in the past. heh But it's true, you risk burning out. I…
So this is a system I'm lookin at: Apologies for the layout it's from the shopping cart: So my question is this...the CPU is a FSB of 1333, yet the RAM is 800...the price for DDR3 1333 is PRICEY right now...so is it better to bite the bullet and get the better ram? or just go 8 gigs of the DDR2 800? I also plan to buy the…
Most TN panels are 6-bit + FRC which boosts it to the 16.7m colour range whereas nearly all IPS panels are true 8-bit panels with a lot being 8-bit + FRC to get the extra range. In summary TN panels use extra tech to reproduce colours more accurately which in most cases doesn't do a better job then the native 8-bit+ units.…
@Zlivingston Np :D Bend is your friend though sometimes you gotta know if you should bend first or bend after xD That bot is looking so good Make sure your 8-sided cylinder has the size as close as possible to your high poly, also make sure to smooth the edge normals (it's on the shift right click menu while on an edge)…
Man, fuck this. Milkshape is just no good for higher poly models. I bought 3ds max 8 over the net so I am going to get to work learning how to operate it. Milkshape sux, my proportions look different in each view port for crap sake. I have spent 8 hours flogging a dead horse and have finally broken and forked out the $$…
