Answer: No default gray material or actual color skin texture? Suppose you went here already, Maybe he will respond to a comment posted here: His youtube channel I'd guess since i never even heard of this person, too busy doing stuff of my own but might be a composite situation with layers to get the popping look they are…
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, that's really what throws me off about smaller, more complicated things. I always get confused if I should make something all one mesh or 200 individual meshes like you said, but I guess it's now the later.
Well I assume you know that the high poly will require edge control before you turbosmooth, since you have made high poly before. Then make a copy of the high poly, put it in a new layer, and explode it. Then make another copy of the exploded version of your high poly gun, (keep it in place, right under the original…

Hello, I was reading this tutorial: https://area.autodesk.com/tutorials/street_cop_workflow_by_mashru_mishu In the texturing part, the artist mentions adding an ao and green channel of the normal map to the flat diffuse color map to give it some shading and reference on which other textures would be built upon. I…
With v-ray you can basically stack a bunch of materials in top of each other, and blend them together with the v-ray Blend material. Can you do something like this with Arnold?
Hey everyone. I've been following the "Ultimate career guide for 3d artists" by Marc Brunet, and have hit a bit a block. I'm at the part where he's adding a base red color on the face and then adds a black mask to add/subtract the red from the albedo. Before he adds the black mask, he changes the blend to overlay which all…
