the robot is full of shit in this instance I'm afraid (unless the feature has been added since 9.x) you can poop out various things if you just want an outline but wireframe isn't one of them. if the update installs before the Dayz mods download I'll check in latest and post back here -

Are you using the same tangent space? OpenGL = +x +y + z. DirectX = +x -y +z. Did you bake and import the meshes already fully triangulated (already should have if not). -

Sorry I figured it out. I didn't notice the options under the normal map settings. Mine was X,X,Z. Not X,Y,Z. Durp. -

You need to type a negative number in the actual boxes. If it is X 1.00000 you type X -1.00000000 and it will be mirrored on X. -

I think expanding the idea of what constitutes a light source and using a more accurate (HDR) approach when describing light intensity would have a major effect on how you go about the setup. I think aspects of this are why people (at least myself) would use a falloff relative to the camera to describe the (potential)… -
