Try pressing the "Shade Selected Faces" button on in the command panel. Although sometimes they don't show up for me either. I think maybe your falloff is too high that it's actually encasing the entire model. Try lowering the falloff value to 0, and work up from there. Also, in the end try Resetting xForms. That might fix…
I liked most of it. Feels like that weird demoscene stuff. I also immediately wanted to watch the video for Shed by Meshuggah and I think both videos press those "uncomfortable" buttons pretty well. You could have lots of fun with the UDK material editor too. It's more flexible than the material system of CryEngine(it's…
Alright it didn't take long for it to mess up for me. The picture above is the result of putting the animation files on to a static model and pushing the play button. All the animations work in preview with the model and they worked with the model they were imported with but not with the static model in the scene. The rig…
Yes, it's such an awful scam. They have clearly fooled everyone into paying money for video games. Nobody could have possibly known that their money would be exchanged for video games when they clicked on the "purchase video games" button. If only Valve had just listed it as a video game sale instead of clearly lying to us…
Just did the same thing, but using Silo instead of maya and it was fine. When exporting out of Zbrush, I usually switch off the "grp" and "mrg" buttons. Silo has NO export options for OBJs, but reliably preserves the vert order. Somewhere along the line something's getting scrambled between Maya and Zbrush by the looks of…
if you have an online portfolio, that should be accessible during the interview. I would wear something that looks professional/casual. I wouldn't go full blown suit and tie. Perhaps nice pants, button up shirt. etc. My only advice: be honest, be yourself. They are going to ask you questions about art and video games. how…
tutorials are cool but spend more time experimenting and learning - fail fast, fail often, learn from those failures. I recently saw a clip from a max tutorial that regularly used the model breaking mirror button (it screws up your normals) instead of the mirror or symmetry modifier. So tutorial dvds are not always…
There's a reconstruct subdivisions button in the geometry palette that will let you get back lower subdivisions. With dynamesh however the answer is probably no because it creates a lot of poles and triangles that can't be simplified. At best, if there are no triangles you might be able to get 1 subdivision level. Your…
some updates for today, I'm a bit ill so just some small stuff for this weekend, stair railings and more lighting ideas... And wvaughn409, here is the location of the big screenshot button in unreal 4! I would reccommend saving before trying out big sizes although I use 3 and that is huge and instant on my PC :) Hope it…
@Tvidotto I just used the blend file provided in the downloads to use during the decimation process, then just append those objects into the my regular set-up file. What I don't understand is why aren't the scripts attached to a button or a custom modifier. Something that goes the lines of. Click Operation. Insert Value.…
