I think you should put forward your idea Daz. There's been a lot of interest in both 'release the heads' and the set you did on the Bond theme. Heads are good practice, and the likeness bit adds fun. Go for it!
thanks, JKMakowka I wish more Polycounters would make there practice pieces available for This open-source game ;) seriously though the guys working on red eclipse are pretty dedicated its nice to be helping out a team that is motivated.
Me and this guy graduated the at the same time and we both got best of show... (all true) he's practically an Asian kp doppelganger! only his business cards were metal... okay, luv him with mouth pc!
well, for cloth only stuff i dont use specular maps , i mean it would be practically black, and why waste a draw call on something that would be almost black , for rocks etc, unless they are shiny or metals no need.
I always have a blast, and good practice, modeling my favorite weapons from the Borderlands franchise. This is my favorite shotty - Borderlands 2 Torgue Casual Ravager. I used Blender, textured with Substance Painter - then "tooned" up with Photoshop. Thanks for looking! Daf
I get what you're trying to do - I see this all the time. What you have after this process is a normal map that doesn't work with your mesh regardless of whether you use averaged normals or not . Bad practice aside though.. I don't think thats necessarily the root of the artefacts in your original image - there's a better…
It's worth pointing out that they have a proprietary engine and that there's no reason you cant store multiple vertex color sets in a model so they probably just do that for simplicity's sake. This is also what the slides suggest they did so I think it's a safe bet. The simplest option if you only have 4 channels is to do…
In this project I wanted to create my own design and explore and practice some basic lighting theory, hopefully you liked my work program used : fusion, blender, photoshop artwork On Artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/nYK14X My other work: https://www.artstation.com/falcondesign
Using generic reference you can zoom and rotate around helps. Daz 3d is a good program to have on a screen next to you while you work. You can dial in physical attributes to suit what you are after. You pretty much want to avoid doing too much work at the top level of subdivision initially, as its hard to control the mesh…
Hello People  Working on my first bust sculpt of Andrew Garfield to practice Zbrush in my final year. Just wondering what people would do to push it further and also any corrections that are needed to be made. Thanks for your time
