yeah didnt seem to work to well and the game they were using it to was zzzzZZZZzzzz ..... I think its one of those cool tech things to see at a place like GDC. However there is no real practical use for it yet (if ever).
Thanks for the sample skanker. Wasn't aiming for super low poly style, but I need practice in the area. Will try an animated my further projects from now on, as it gives better insight on my screwups. Cheers. -cas
The tutorial Stjoris mentioned is probably this one: http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm It's a very good tutorial to start with, I suggest reading through it, and practicing it all. I notice it's been updated with some new pictures, too.
what are good practices to go by for texturing enviroments? how many maps? sizes? from what ive seen people here do a section of an enviroment but i always wondered how many textures they used and sizes
Definitely spend more time with your drawing proportion/relations are all over the place Good exercise to practice proportion/relations is to draw pile of boxes https://thumbs.dreamstime.com/z/pile-cardboard-box-d-render-39585276.jpg
Hi @floon Thank you for your comprehensive answer. You're absolutely right. What I'm asking for is practically already there, just requires a little more imagination. Thanks again for your very cool plugin. cheers Rafal
What is your budget? Most class projects are fairly open-ended unless they state otherwise. From a practical standpoint, most modern engines on anything other than a mobile can easily push 200k for a major prop.
Do not feel down Sai the process is long but always worth it! i like where its going it feels allot more i guess green and warmth then i thought it would do, the practical elements really help!
it may sound boring, but guns are always a great thing to start learning high pollies on, as they generally focus around basic square/cylindrical components and generally aren't as organic as this. that's if you're looking for some ideas on what else to practice on. :)
I think I might try doing the hitman scene, even if I don't finish it, the practice will be valuable. The scene isn't actually that complicated now that I have looked at it and sorted through what the scene actually has in it.
