Instead of a new thread I thought I would add a question to this - Are there any Photoshop scripts or is there somehow a way to copy tangent handle information from one handle to another? I often use vectors and find that this would speed the process up somewhat, ta. Edit - I use cs3
If ads are there for needed revenue, have you guys given some thought to the prevalence of ad-blockers these days? I seriously can't surf without one, I've grown so used to it. There are scripts that detect it, and serve a message about supporting the site. Maybe something to consider. Also, any updates for the wiki? :)
like I said I usually combine them though in most cases you have to detach them once you imported it back and layouted it finally. Maybe give it a try - there is always a way of creating some scripts otherwise to automate the workflow (detach objects from imported Headus OBJ).
Besides looking at baking with mental Ray.. maybe dissecting these two old convert to file scripts might give you some ideas? Download copyConvertSolidTx.mel and performConvertSolidTx.mel ( not sure if they still work ) old school: The original Gamasutra article circa 2001:…
i'm not sure how your script works but if your going to do this sort of thing a lot look into vertex reordering and localized vertex reordering. thats how film studios deal this sort of thing. and there is a lot of morphing and remodeling in that environment. your morphs have a nice personality to them regardless, kudos.
Yeah, this all seems odd to me as well. I suppose we will have to wait, I don't know how easily someone can transfer their scripts, code, models, and stuff to another engine without breaking their work. But if something does happen...surely Crytek will have a bit of a mess on their end.
I believe your base 3d program of choice is always preference when it comes to modeling, I know a lot of people here who start to recognize their programs limitations will delve into creating/buying scripts for more complex and faster modeling technique in which case you may want to look into.
Just tried the macro script, it didn't work as planned, I'm still using it for something else! if I want it to run smooth stronger by itself there has to be a model loaded up already or it won't take the smooth brush change ion effect. So I'll go on the hunt for the smooth normal file!
That's good to hear, however they've sorted it out. Drove me crazy to be doing well on Expert until one of the scripted encounters (the room with the minigun turret in the Subway part of No Hope campaign always comes to mind), when the AI would flail around uselessly, or stand right in the middle of the room. + 1
Just did a small comparison, it's not the same as using Linear Subdivision - as that causes non-quads quite easily. This script subdivides things in a more quad-based manner while the results look similar to Linear SubDiv but aren't quite the same. It was the similar look that made me wonder, cool stuff anyway :).
