Ptex does work only good with low polycount objects optimized for subD. Its made for Disney Style. Making UVS for complex stuff is just part of the game if you work for Film. This robot here will need some UDIMs to get a decent pixel density. But first you have to create clean unfolded UVs.
She's so charming and cute. Me and My girl friend love it so much. I think you already notice about it, but for now, the back of the waist armor is digging into her. Also, I wonder what is your idea for her human body and octopus body transition. Is it going to be something like Ariel's in Disney movie?
All the unanswered questions just make me think they'll do a sequel to it, might not be on tv, but disney won't just stop when there's money to be made. Hell, they own Marvel now and they've had a bunch of comic writers on the show, a comic mini-series to explain a few things would probably sell reasonably well
Since optimisation won't be an issue anymore, the texturing might move towards something like PTEX, maybe a better technique or evolved form of it? No need for uvs and with Ptex, u can have high resolution textures., That's what Disney has been using for their cinematic animations because they haven't been a fan of Uv…
Cool, I'm going to have to check a few of these shows out. I haven't seen enough of Gravity Falls to pass judgement, but I love love love the theme song. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tctX771EQeA"]Disney's Gravity Falls - Opening Theme [HD] (Best Quality on YouTube) - YouTube[/ame]
It's been a long time i'm not modelling anything, so decided to do a little bit of practice today. I always wanted to model a Disney styled character, so here it is I'm basing this on Audrey Hepburn, but not really noticeable. Prob going to do a complete character on this model, if i get more free time.
Still shivering here.... but improving. Frisbee golf sounds like a damn good idea. I think it's been about 5 years since I played it last. Paintball and golf are two goals for me this year. Also, I'm going to Disney World next month, which will probably be my highlight of the spring.
Hi all I started a new environment based on the Disney tailspin comic from the early 90's i plan to do the hire for hire buildings... i started whit the Seaduck. let me know what you guys think crits are always welcome! (i am bad at texturing) Thanks [IMG][/img] [IMG][/img] [IMG][/img] [IMG][/img]
I can see you are having a lot of fun with those skeletons. They are really funny. I don't know if that's the vibe you're going for but I really like their macabre humor. Sort of a haunted house or even Disney's Haunted Mansion kind of feel. The skeletal satire of that Sistine Chapel painting of God creating Adam is…
Most of my career so far has been canned games. first gig was a AAA title disney was working on that was canceled, followed by a canned mmo. I've been working in ios/casual games lately though and I enjoy the shorter dev cycles. There is less pressure when one gets scrapped. Always sucks though. :(
