I've had very mixed experiences with recruiters. I can't help but feel that in general they are a pretty tactless bunch and I can't help but resent that every time I'm in crunch on Gears or UT I tend to get cold called by a series of recruiters who are circling like vultures in the hope that I'm burned out enough by crunch… -

Also, just to throw this out there, AP Studio Art is geared towards taking the AP test. The AP test(unless it's changed since I took the class 12 years ago) for studio art is submitting a portfolio, which can also be really helpful if you're planning on going to a college that has portfolio requirements. -

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I'm still working on this but it's definitely slow going. I'll lay down a patch of color, try and shade, step it back and try again, and again. It's a learning experience and every inch is a slog, but I'm happy with the progress. I'm not wholly ignorant, I've been watching other artists… -
