Terragen 2 is also a good option, but a license is required for anything over 800x600, (which is ridiculous). It's used for VFX a lot I think. Node-based, amazing cloud/lighting system, lots of options for procedural/heightmap, and can use imported models from other packages. I haven't used it in a few years now, but back… -

use [tab] to get to the console, rather than [~], and turn off the UI with ToggleHUD, scroll the mousewheel until there is no weapon in your hand, use Ghost to navigate to a good position, then use Tiledshot n to take a screenshot, where n is the number of times bigger you want the screenshot than your current resolution.… -

@Udjani it really depends what the weapon is for. I do know some VR games with a lot of polygons used in weapons. Since you are not locked in a singe perspective you could observe the whole weapon in detail so in that case it´s better to model a screw then baking it. Sure for a AAA first person shooter 80k is waaay too… -

ok think i might have found a solution :) My original model was about 80k tris and split into 2 different objects, I decided to split my object into smaller chunks and that seems to have fixed it, its now made up of around 15 objects no bigger than 10k tris and ive not had any issues. -

Housing costs fluctuate so much in the US based upon where you live that your point there is not relevant.... even in the same city. I can get a two bedroom apartment for $1000/month in the next city over, and that is around 800 sq. feet too.... and deals like this aren't hard to find.
