Is there some rule that says every katana needs to be decorated? Anyway, I think the katana looks fine, for practice. If you are planning on making something for your portfolio it would probably better to model a higher detailed katana.
@BestiART Thank you for video. That was a really helpful explanation and with your advice now I have a lot of stuff to practice and improve. Also will try to stick more to the references and maybe make something more detailed and complex.
Thanks. used the tut, and ended up with this: Also thanks rooster. Still practicing: Update: Yes yes.. its here. Not really done. Enjoy: Fixed link: http://pbr303.photobucket.com/albums/nn159/Joshflighter/Completedhonda.png

Talk about anti competitive business practices, buy out a piece of software, don't update it, and let it slowly die before actually killing it off. Is that even legal? Autodesk pretty much has a Monopoly on the industry.
Was kinda in a rush when I did this but I really want to take part in #animtober. And I think walk cycles is something I really have to practice so here we go ! :) https://vimeo.com/293622939
I'm calling this done, this project was pretty successful. I kinda have an idea now on how to paint skin and faces. Might have to practice painting wood and stone sometime. The gif is a bit fast...oh well.
Run a profiler in-game, see whether you're Transform-bound (generally vertices) or Fillrate-bound (generally materials). In practice tho it's hella more complicated. ;) http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Framerate_Optimization_Tips https://simonschreibt.de/gat/renderhell/
Thanks for the graph, battleyak! Yeah, I'm adding a lot of faces, poses, and perspectives, because that's what I find hardest to do. I want this to be a grueling practice piece, and something I can use for my portfolio.
@PyrZern I suppose I'll have to do that and practice hard surface stuff on a smaller scale another time. I want to get this done by next week. @iadagraca That's fine too. Are you texturing the top to be the hair?
