http://graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=1698 This is a link to Blender 2.5+ bundled with the Norma rig. A pretty solid rig for practicing animation. Norman info:http://ivogrigull.com/blog/?page_id=127
I did this using xnormal filter, normals2cavity, x+, y-, z+, method: EMB, contrast 1.5 Looks practically the same as the one pior made in crazybump, just need to up the contrast a bit more.
Indeed, as far as I can remember, Hl2 contained very little normal mapping. Seeing the features they're listing and the beauty of the screenshots themselves is really impressive, practically boosted the engine by 100% Hope it delivers
Thanks for the feedback GarageBay, I completely agree about the circle the more I think about it the less it works, everyone seamed to like it in the thumbnail bit it isn't practical so its going to need to go.
All the ZScript-based tutorials that come with ZB are pretty damn good for getting all the basics down. Also, the ZBrush Practical Guide on Pixologic's site is quite useful after you've gotten a good start
Awright, Oxy! I'm coming in today. I needs to get some practice. I'll be the neub for a bit till I get my chops back. Thanx man for the info.
Thanks guys. Yeah Nick that big giant knife would not be practical but then again carrying around a giant rocket launcher and such isn't either :) Added a couple more things to the personal art section.. http://www.artbyjessemoody.com
started to redo the texture for the dumpster at a higher res still got quite a bit to get done on it though, and texturing is definately not my strong point so the practice is good for me. the left is the original the right the new
or storyboarding, layout, camera setup, cinematographer, dialog editor/facial animator, etc etc etc :) If you want to do camera work & camera animtion, practice Storyboarding too! focus in on something (pun intended)!
haha! oh the shame, the shame! apologies, i left for the weekend and foolishly thought that the new topics wouldn't move so fast in the meantime! and now to practice what i preach, i shall close this thread
