well, today the problem continued, but the reset trick was working again. cept, this time, when i hit the reset button, instead of acting how it normally does, it did a hard shutdown, waited a few seconds, then came on by itself. Im thinking its the mobo... so, that being said, any suggestions on a new one? -

Export as in save the map from the baker? If so, press bake and that will save all active maps to disk. If you want to export a map from the scene, well, maps aren't saved in the scene, they're saved on your hard drive. You can press the little pencil button next to the map to open the file. -

Not a maya user, but why are people still bitching and whining about being bought by autodesk? WHY! WHY! Wish the cut tool could be fixed as well... right now its my "fking crash app, make cuts on the other side of the model, make invisible verts to create welding problems later on" button -

the belly seems a bit flat on top, where the belly button line is, i'd round it up a bit maybe. Looks a bit stuck on from the front as well, maybe smooth it out at the top and buldge it out a bit near the bottom. Looking sweet though, is there a concept you are working from then? Looking forward to updates :) -

To get images to work, you need to get the full URL which usually ends in .JPG then click on the "Attach Image/File" button and paste the URL there. I don't think Google Drive will work for embedding images on forums. At least I couldn't figure out how to get a plain image URL out of it. -

alright, alright. Daz is one of the most helpful chaps around here so i would humbly request people stop trying to press his buttons. i know most people try and make a sport of exposing nerves and stepping on them online, but how about we wrap up this episode hmm? -

click the object you gonna texture, go to the modify tab, add "Unwrap UVW" to the list there, go down the UVW preferences until you see a big "Edit" button and click it, now click on "Mapping" on the top of the new window and choose Flatten Mapping now you got your UV placed out -

hmm possibly have you tried (max 2010) in the graphite modeling tools preserve uv's button? Here i did something similar and applied a quick planar map to it under the turbosmooth modifier, didn't get the same issues as you though... hey mop, you know that you can render without the cage in max right? in the render to texture dialog, click the options button in the projection mapping section, then uncheck the Use Cage box. The ray distance is controlled by the offset radio dial. comes in very hand for hard surface, and isnt to shabby for organics… -

You can force a value by making sure all of your UV islands are the same texel density (rescale clusters). After that, select all of your uv islands, input your desired value for TD, desired texture map resolution, and right clicking this button. It'll then scale all UVs accordingly with that texture map size, and TD.
