Nice :D I like all the little light dot and not 100% merged color variations! I have one criticism though : One the original concept there are two parts that stand more than the others : the metallic blue ones. For your model you have used a lot more of saturated colors (other parts blue, yellow for the handle etc) , and I…
Yeah, sorry about that :D A pictures worth a thousand words...that`s why I`ll put quite a few. First I`ll put a lightsaber low poly (1008 Tris) and high poly (590K Tris) I recently made. I wrote the error encountered but I`ll mention them here too: a lot fo lines are wavy instead of being simply straight (e.g. at the end…
Really wonderfull. I get a sense of the atmosphere immdediatly. The thing bugging me at the moment though is that the road is too flat. I'd suggest a two fold approach to rectify this. One, understand that roads (especially in Europe) aren't built to be flat, they have a subtle curvature to them which allows rainwater to…
ignore them. I know its hard. ive been there too. music tends to help. and, pick a computer at the front, so you cant see them outta the corner of your eye. also, when they show their half assed folio in a week or two, that is only 5% instead of 40.... call em on it! rip it apart saying its shit for how much time we`ve…
Love this thread, been watching it just haven't posted anything yet. You've improved so much through working on this piece! Your newest revision is gorgeous, I think you've really nailed it and I'm glad you changed the color scheme a bit. Honestly my eyes go directly to the shield when I look at the two models together,…
Yeah you can leave them open. Leaving open areas doesn't affect baking (that I know of). You only have to be careful when you are rigging that animation of the mesh doesn't reveal those holes, or empty areas. When you are modeling its a good idea to run a mesh check on each part to make sure the surfaces are connected, and…
It's not a terrible idea. Having UDK create it's own Lightmap UVs is a quick workaround, but generally you'll always get a cleaner and better-looking result if you make your own Lighting UV channel in your 3D app. This way, you can focus on specific parts of your model that would need more or less lightmap resolution. For…
It's almost free to attend university/college in Ontario now if you make under a certain amount (which I do since I quit my job) so it's gotta be a school in Ontario. I'm still paying off my undergrad degree and don't want to add to it. From my research I've narrowed it down to these two. They seem to be the best in the…
It goes like this... PC: Hi, I'm stable. Mac: And I'M GONNA STAB ALL THOSE FUCKERS. Linux: I'm gonna stand by and watch you two duke it out while I debate the politics of open source software. Might masturbate to a kernel build, too. (Edit: Hm, I should note that you can swap around PC and Mac as you like. Linux stays,…
Yeah I would rather have a useful consumer product of some sort than a hand made item (generally speaking). ie if it is a hand made trinket, ala a whittled something or other, I will appreciate it, but by next year.. or more like next month you know where it will be? In a cardboard box in storage with everything else I…
