You can plop a shell modifier on but I used extrude. Let me know what you end up coming up with. I attempted to spline along the shape for the inner star shape, but wasn't completely successful. Once I had the spline shape made all I would get after extruding would be a cookie cutter shape that I couldn't cap or anything.…
A lot of the shapes I beging simply by making a spline and then applying the Bevel modifier as you see here or the shell modifier. Also you can see I'm using the material Poop mentions and that I make heavy use of the layers as when things get heavier later I will rely on being able to quickly select sections through the…
I got a stupid dong workflow. I just cut the shape out messily on a plane in Max, then copy the shape, flip it, and extrude. Then I add some edge loops at the inner and outer corners and along the extruded faces to get a quick high poly mesh, and once it's in ZBrush and subdivided I dynamesh it so I can sculpt on it.
I'm trying to create this material in Quixel Mixer. I'm remaking DM-Tutorial from Unreal Tournament GOTY 1999 in UE4. There are a few walls with wood paneling. The pattern is unique. It got a square in the center, then four rectangles around it, and then an extruded bar of wood with a gold indentation. It also looks as if…
So you've been modeling a character/asset and you need to extrude a perfect square but what you have at the place you need to extrude from is a rectangle with no idea what the length and width is and the width isn't likely to be half the length for an edge loop in the centre to work. How can you make it into a square?…
References - The rear of the receiver is off by a lot. - The charging handle could be a bit more solid. - The area you asked for help to make vents is called the Cutts Compensator. Personally I would have extruded the sections inwards and connected them to the horizontal barrel cavity. For edge tightness control I would…
Retro Space Age Jinx WIP 09 Crosspost Additional detailing on the clothes for folds. Is it acceptable to leave the belts as a single planes in high poly? Right now, I have them sculpted on with only one plane, thinking I could just extrude it. I do plan to have the belts actually have thickness. Is there a way to extrude…
I'm sure modo has some deformers like lattice in Maya or FFD modifier in Max. You could also think about extruding it along a spline as seen here [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk56bjGHhMI"]Maya - Special Polygon Extrude Technique!! - TUTORIAL - YouTube[/ame] So I'd make about five to ten modular pieces and use…
I can use some tutorial about extrude edge then... I can't seem to find it useful for a solid shape. Put it simply... I don't see which part of the face modeling will be needing it. Anyone mind give me some tips on this? Or if you mean by modeling piece by piece with extrude edge? Isn't that similar to poly-to-poly…
Nope. I don't know witch software are you workin with, but Luxology MODO doesn't have those type of "primitives". Is a cube subdivided to transform into a lowpoly sphere-like main shape, extruded later, etc, and a bit of bevel to round some lines... This for the main shape. Up and down areas are cilinders extruded+bevel.…
