I read somewhere that if you save your PSD with a filled white layer on top of your stack that it reduces the file size. Not sure if this is practical or the savings amount to anything worthwhile. Just thought it was interesting.
One should do figure and gesture drawing practices. :D My skills have definitely gone rusty. Starting today I start basic stuff again. It feels good, but very challenging.
So, I’ve began making the Gunstar Heroes low poly version. Much easier than the higher gen stuff. Just a short little practice before I get back to the heavier projects.
if you can get a hold of udk, id advise using that to blockout the scene so you can get your scale right. Not saying its wrong here. Its just good practice.
Cool stuff once again. I especially like the head. I'm curious, is this for anything in particular or is it just for practice? You're pretty thorough and detailed with your concepts, and it seems like they're production ready.
I definitely need to practice with colours and representation of material, I was planning to aim for a bronze material but found it tricky to get the balance of colour right. I'm working on the contrast now, thanks for the tips MeintevdS! :)
Thanks LRoy, i think i will try that cell shading technique first but i'll end up doing both methods to practice, i will post the results later when i have time.
okey some new stuff. some anatomy study without ref. plan is to get some good ref and see how far off i was. and another girl, mostly done for clothes practice
You can definitely paint, for someone just starting in game art. How long have you been drawing or practicing other traditional medium? :) The chunks/dents hint concrete in the blade to me.
Pretty much, yeah. Extra point if you can find it from the original creator. Since it's a good practice to let the concept artist know of what we're doing when we use their creation.
