The Landscape 'Clay Brush' and 'Foliage scale axis locking' are nice additions :) It was so annoying how rough the landscapes looked after painting, meaning that the Smooth brush was a necessity rather than a choice.

If the landscape is getting too dark then you should take another look at your material. 65 is way too bright so it'll be difficult to arrange the rest of your map for that amount of light just because of the landscape.
Really awesome. I am aiming to create some similar world machine landscapes for a school final project soon. Do you have any tips? Did you colourise your landscape in world machine or outside it?
See anything weird? BTW Static meshes seem to be lit with indirect light but any shadow cast on the landscape just comes out really dark. See what I mean? Here is the landscape properties

Thanks for the reply, I have upped the max displacement amount (it was on 0 and i upped it to 2), but this seems to have reversed the problem. So when i am close with the viewport camera the landscape disappears and when i am further away the landscape is there.

Spent some time learning how to set up a substance material to paint a landscape in UE4 and played with my background a bit. Now that I know this works well, I'll create a better landscape and paint more of the exposed parameters from my substance.
