$Sel = `ls -sl -fl`; select $Sel[`size $Sel` -1]; since the array starts at 0, to select the last object you have to subtract 1 from the size of the array.
oh yes. Sadly The Specialists has been ruined lately by roleplayers and boosting kung fu whores. Subtract both of those and it's easily the best first person shooter of all time.
I'm guessing you mean subtracting one of the maps from the other for the alpha? What would a "complete map" be? I'm just trying to visualize what the result of the difference would be. :P
it can be changed in maya for selections, by defualt dragging a selection will replace the selection, but with modifers your can add subtract and toggle. Blender can do the same or maya can do the same as blender just depends on the binds for selection. if people are refering to the blender keyset for maya being wrong well…
Yeh for 3a you can do select face centers like claydough says, or what I do is marquee select all of them and subtract select (Hold Control) the other faces.
New question: Can you have an alpha that adds and subtracts at the same time without having the edges of the alpha show up? I tried with a 50% grey as my base, but it didn't work.

I have the lower button set to "Alt" so I can quick color pick in photoshop and use the subtract tool in ZBrush as well as camera navigation. The Upper hotkey is set for right click.
Subtract the object world position rather than one minus and add. Don't know how object radius is calculated. Remember that UDK uses some gamma correction processing which will delinearise your gradients.
