Blame Valve for the "pay more for early access than retail price" model. If you backed it you could have got it for $15. Who cares if something is AAA or not, maybe we should value more than graphics. There's plenty of AAA games that ship with a $10 story and game play experience.
There are plenty of great games. Just because it isn't AAA doesn't mean it isn't amazing. AAA games tend to be stale, at least to me. I have been playing a lot of this lately. And I love it. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0OWjhHTz-M"]1001 Spikes Trailer - YouTube[/ame]
There's also a thread in Polycount where people show their portfolio before they were hired in AAA studios. That might help you get an idea of what an entry level portfolio looks like, many of them are prop or environment artists! https://polycount.com/discussion/187512/recently-hired-in-aaa-show-us-your-portfolio

I think the OP was mostly talking about the average artist having worked on a AAA title and this artists advantage over a kickass artist who never had the chance to work on a major title - not a great artist having worked on a AAA title. Obviously if the guy is good AND work on a major title its a no brainer hehe.
We are banning you, for stealing other artists' artwork. We don't tolerate stealing here. I'm not totally familiar with open source development but why hasn't there been a game branch? There's a flavor of Linux for everyone out there. It's a shame they seem hell bent on film, a large portion of games use 3D, from the indie up to the big AAA games. For movies that's mostly concentrated to the big budget movies,…
How low spec can you go with UE4, it was mentioned you can turn off PBR but how much of a hack is that? I know people get dazzled by AAA graphics without considering the AAA money & manpower that goes into that. Unity wins in that regard, showing off games that are realistically achievable by a small indie team.
Thanks! Doing my best! And I would call Godot a "Blender between engines", there are some things that you literaly need to do backwards, but on the other hand, bunch of the workflows feel way better then Unreal or Unity. examples: + the importing of custom collisions from a 3D Software using suffixes is better then in UE…
