You really need to stop desaturating your normal map and overlaying it over your diffuse. You're negating the purpose of the normal by forcing a faux lighting on your diffuse. I'm going to guess from my own limited experience that 1500 triangles is a bit on the high end for current gen foliage, but may not be so for whatever the next upcoming generation will be foliage. Triangle counts aren't too much of an issue if your talking about high end games. If we were talking about a Wii, DS, or iPhone… -

It sort of depends. If you're using the metalness workflow, there are a couple limitations. You don't get as much control over the reflectivity of non-metals, everything is fixed to 0.04 while in reality non-metals reflect in the 0.02-0.08 range or so. I don't support GameStop. I DO support Play-N-Trade. But that's mainly because Play-N-Trade regularly stocks ancient-ass cartridge titles. I don't usually purchase current-gen titles used.
