Now I'm not some grungy wannabe filmmaker that's searching for existentialism through a haze of bong smoke or something. No, it's easy to pick apart bad acting, short-sighted directing, and a purely moronic stringing together of words that many of the studios term as "prose". No, I'm talking about the lack of realism.…
his work was always great and awe inspiring, one of those people you just want to examine over every detail in an attempt to break it down. had myself looking at it again the other day, the way he mixed soft quilted spacey designs with amazing hard surface was just great and could blend and integrate those elements…
I'd love to do it all in AE, but unfortunately, my school assignment requires I use a 3d element. I think I might have found something in the fluids drop down. Set initial state? I just visited that site earlier today ironically. There is a guy on youtube, FreddieW, who links him for tutorials and tips.
Great presentation. Thanks to you both, Ikruel and Pavlovich, for further explanations here! There was a slide about auto exploding low-polys. How do you explode high-polys then, so they match their positions when baking? And how does it deal with high-polys that have more elements than low-polys? By some sort of manual…
that's a nice sketch Francisco. What I would say is that you want to keep the focus on your dragon, so in the future I'd recommend contrasting your character more significantly from the rest of the scene-- right now it's easy to lose the dragon in the rest of the mountain, especially when those elements should be in the…
I think you could really do this in either program just as easily, depending on what you're most comfortable with. Personally, I'd use illustrator - I find it a lot quicker than PS for clean vector shapes, and you could quite easily create a couple of graphic styles that would work across many elements with just a click.
Thanks so much for your crits friend. Much appreciated. However, this is my normal painting style. I use the sketch ans a guideline for where all the elements go. The style comes naturally to me since I used to be in comic books. But when I paint, I go for a more detailed look. Hope it wont disappoint you.
It feels like it holds all the major elements but doesn't come together as its lacking a lot of smaller details. This in turn makes it very difficult to gauge its size or even how it would be held. In my opinion any large shape design needs those smaller details if it hopes to look real and functional.…
Hey guys!!! I've been progressing on the splashart, it's proving to be quite fun but demanding. My approach is to paint a speific area or element, but with broad strokes just to get a good sense of color blending. No details for now. I'm also jumping back and forth between rakan and the background for now.... to get a…
Make sure that "enable per poly collision" is checked on every element (sub-object material) which you want decals to affect. This is found under the LODInfo of the static mesh, where you entered which materials to use. This sometimes defaults to off-- I'm guessing it's your problem. You may have to save the package to see…
