Make a backwards game, where you start off as this allmighty powerful wizard/knight. And you resurrect the dragon, put the princess back into the tower, put the treasure back in the chest... put the sword back into the stone.. and the purpose of the game is to try and be a peasant farm boy in a thatch roofed cottage.
Im a fan- although I felt the series got weaker as it went along. there were some parts like the huuuuge list of wizard that seemed kind of out of place / not funny- I agree with RobG about the family guy stuff too- the music was one of my favorite parts.
Just for fun, I did a quick model of the armcannon from old-style power suit art and photoshopped a Prime style HUD. (EDIT) Wow, I posted this and just hours later they announced Metroid Prime 4. Apparently, I am some sort of wizard.
@gordon robb - sorry for the delay, but here is a small guide on how to setup a project without a normal map: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/6230494/Quixel/No_Normals_Tutorial.jpg Courtesy of Quixel-wizard Billy Lundevall! I hope this answers any questions you might have, otherwise let me know!
oh dear god. i finally sat down to try this out. was having a blast. after about 30 minutes i came very close to suddenly throwing up in my lap. splitting headache since - two hours later. this is made by an evil wizard out of black magic.
Lovely cat! Imagine the boss in your company stomping in the artists studio saying "Ok our next game will not be "The 7th Wizards Cauldron" - a Massively Overrated Online Multiplayer Experience, but we will head into a totally different genre "Sparkles the Cat", COMPRENDE!" Ok, that would truly be a test for the game…
The more niche the position, the higher demand/pay. I know good senior fx artists and particle wizards make decent coin as they are few and far between compared to enviro/prop/character artists niche down smartly and you can have a ton of offers to choose from.
Update. We have given up on Cryengine and have decided that the Unity engine best suits our needs. The wizards have nearly made up the lost time caused by the change of engines and we are working towards a test demo. There is still a need for modelers and now terrain sculptors.
you don't need talent. you just need to pretend to be talented to a crowd that believes you and tells their friends. this usually involves some alcoholic beverages, and lots of profanity. my dad's rock band is recording an album, and most of their lyrics include wizards, castles and dragons...that sorta thing.
I know i've seen that vw spider before! I think it was in an older movie...about spiders....ugh. It'll come to me. [edit] My first guess was wrong. I was thinking of an old horror flick, but that was done in like 1970. But, I'm 70% sure on this one...The Wizard?
