A $300 xbox < $300 top graphics card at the time. You will be able to play all released games at > xbox quality, but alot of the pc versions throw in extra features and they tend to make you feel like you aren't "maxing" it.

====Day2 progress==== * I started refining the mesh of dress, didnt know how to tackle this at first with how dynamesh reacts with small areas at low resolutions so I ended up making it as 2 separate subtools (front+back / sides) then merging after im done playing with general silhouette, I also lifted the side parts up to…
Don't get a 4x6... they're useless. The 6x8s are a good size, intuos3 would be a good pick (~$300). Check craigslist, sometimes you can find a deal (ie. there's a 9x12 for $350 up right now that you could probably talk down to $300).
That is correct, heres a .gif I made showcasing this. It goes from a value of 3.0 which is the original value, then 2.0, 1.0 and off (but this also turns off other post processing stuff). https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9876544/witcher2sharpen.gif A comparison between 3.0 and off.
From what I've heard Mari is still the standard in many big VFX studios due to how it allows painting on very large textures (16K-32K), and can use nearly unlimited UDIM tiles (substance has issues over about 30 tiles supposedly). IKEA's 300 Euro "Volmar" got top marks in a german consumer magazine's tests a couple of months ago, for what it's worth. I think they limited the entries to around 300 Euro in cost, though. Lifting weights on the regular as well as riding my bike/running are indispensable for my back health too..
I suspect it is an openGL 3.0 3.1 driver incompatability problem with maya contexts. Just a guess. Rolling back my ATI drivers to 8.12 ( pre 3.0? ) fixes similar rotation tool problems... http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=7&t=734980 The point of that thread was that the history manipulator works on history...
Here's an example btw... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115011 For $970 you can get a quad core that is just slightly slower than the 6800, but you save $300. I'd rather have my $300 than a sliver of speed that I'd probably never notice.
