Not sure if you're aware, but the text you're using on the orange tvs is rotated 180 degrees. The green text is correct but you need to fix the orange sets. -

One tip that will save a lot of frustration with the crappy MD gizmo is to right click in 3d view and flip the pattern instead of rotating it 180. Much easier. -

I experienced a similar problem with directx in max 2012. Switching the viewport to nitrous from directx improved my fps from 28 to 180 fps. -
