9thKnight: thanks! Bull's mouth is off so far. And I have to cut down polycount a lot to meet the target. I think I'll have to simplify crannequin's mechanism. And there will be A LOT of ornaments. 70% of work here is texturing.
Heya guys! Thanks for the comments! @9thKnight: Yeah I think that veil is what makes it stand out from most helmets, glad I put it back in! :D @Dylan Brady: Thanks man! It was a good exercise, I'm glad it turned out well. @L3XICON: Haha, thank you. Yeah, I kinda prefer straight hard surface modeling to sculpting but I got…
Thanks JO420 and 9thknight. Last blade is actually copy pasted from a ispanic zweihander, some pretty crazy designs they had going on in the medieval times ;) . Update on sword and archer helmet.
@9thKnight & @Green Pirate64 You guys asked me how I did some things, I finally got around to putting together some of those breakdowns. I hope everyone enjoys! I'm a complete and total amateur with VFX so I have no idea how correct or well it would work in a real game dev environment, but here is how I achieved those…
I decided I need to redo the cleaver; there's a lot wrong with it. In particular, @9thKnight is right about the silhouette needing to be exagerated and the handle being too flat. With that in mind, here's the new lowpoly.
@MagicSpook The idea probably seemed a bit strange, but I based it on the premise that that weapon was looted off a dead Saracen while on crusades. @Zetheros Thank you the weapon was supposed to be a 1 handed but when it was pointed out only primary weapons would be accepted, thus it became a replacement for the messer and…
Thanks for the feedback! 9thKnight you were totally right, a visor added a lot to the look. Really trying to get a solid basemesh before I go on to sculpting. Probably start the sculpt tomorrow.
@9thKnight Thanks, definitely going to add some details in the textures, nothing too drastic. Started on the textures, will probably settle for a pretty simple color scheme.
@9thKnight - hmm, you're the second person to say that. It's not apparent to me but I've been staring at it for awhile now. I'll try scaling it and see how I like. Thanks for the crit and kind words! @rexus - thanks :)
