This is impressive. My one critique, is that I think when you're portraying actions, use fewer frames, but more dynamic poses. The trick with motion graphics like this is to really let us infer movement, because it can be jarring to have a character switch poses so abruptly in a single shot. I'd also keep the use of the…
Pick up some books on lighting for cinematography - I highly recommend John Alton's [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Painting-With-Light-John-Alton/dp/0520089499]Painting with Light[/ame]. You need to use lighting to shape forms and extract subject matter out of a scene - same principles apply to games as they do to film. Right…
Hey, great stuff man! Keep it comin'. And yeah, Bladerunner is awesome. It has such nice cinematography it gives all the artists the itch to do a study from it.)
omg i love you. This looks awesome. I will say, maybe the lighting around Shodan could be creepier and a bit more cinematic.Feels slightly generic right now
Quality in the UK must have gone down then. I worked with quite a few graduates when I was in London who made it right into regular positions. Even here in China we can recruit people into junior positions right away and I wouldn't call the Chinese education system being better than the UK one. Or could it just be that…
Wow, I hadn't heard about that. Gus' flashback episode in BB was one of my (many) favorites and I've always been curious to see more of his back story. I'm liking Better Call Saul so far and happy to be back in the BB universe. I love the motif created by the characters, location and cinematography. The writing is solid…
Hey Cooper, Congrats on graduating. I went to FS too and interned for DRC after graduation :) I like the environments you have up on the reel but I'd lose the gun. I know you have to keep 3 assets for now but it's not doing you any favors. It's not that its bad, it's just that you just showed us that you can do a lot…
erm... Thesis for bachelors? I thought that was a thing for post grad degrees. It's a written thing? not an animation? as far as topic goes I think approaching animation from another discipline is most interesting? for example Analyzing cinematography/editing of an animation and study the interplay between the animation…
That flythrough is very fast and is moving on multiple axis. This is really not good for showing off an environment that you actually want your audience to see. Keep the cinematography basic. Dolly on one axis at a time, go slow and steady, use dof to your advantage, and change your camera fov to a more lens-like value…
