Are you sure you want to get into the production side of game art? You already seem well skilled in design work, you could become a 3D designer/concept artist. Designing Sci-Fi vehicles, weapons, space ships and props etc. Not just for games, but you could do it for movies/TV as well. Making art that's already been…
Mossbros - so you would enjoy the very creative task of doing retopo full time:) I guess you could make original heads by morphing the base meshs together, so combining the normal map info from separate scans. still not my idea of fun though. You are reduced to merely 'processing' rather than creating anything. make art is…
I loved the silencer set, but the silence icon over his mouth isnt a great idea I think. His name is silencer not "silenced". But the rest is grest, ypu shouldnt think that it isnt good enough, dont underestimate yourself. But for the weapons, tusk and dragon knight weapons are too much I think they doesnt fit well but…
Awesome new post, Rayph i'd love to recreate everything you made from the past and what you make in the future, love the way you do what you do. :) requesting life time access and allowance to recreate what i'd like, that is all. Allan i like the way you leave areas open for artistic creative input for the artist to make…
Trying to create back slot item for Disruptor. Kind of hard to come up with something creative so parody it is. Beastmaster have axes. He throws them like boomerang. I decided to give him machete, since it is close to boomerang shape. Also tried to make it look like wing, since they fly and spin. And one more thing, hiting…
well, barbed wire is pretty tough, so if it was wrapped around the ball like it is it would stay on. it might turn around the ball, but if any spikes were poking the ball they'd keep it from spinning easily. I do agree though, the barbs would do more damage to the user than the victim. Obviously the owner of these items…
http://www.cgtextures.com/ You can also use photos from flickr if you obey the photos Creative Commons license. Also I tend to layer and paint of top of multiple photos, if you alter a photo enough where it's beyond recognition, there isn't anything you can get in trouble for. Also I'm sure there's some legal rights that…
If you're constantly in crunch mode and look at what you're being paid versus hours worked you will very quickly come to the conclusion that you're making a pretty sad hourly wage. One that would probably be matched by a variety of other jobs. There are exceptional circumstances that can require extra hours but it…
Really awesome stuff, Tor! Quick questions :) I'd say you're at such a high point in both art and technicality which most of us aspire to have some day. In your projects, how often do you come across problems you haven't solved before? Do you have all the steps planned out to expect smooth sailing from the beginning? (--…
Maybe from a distinctly american perspective, but that's pretty horrifying to me. Government deeming creative media illegal to consume in certain ways is pretty much the only place that crosses a line and gets me really caring about politics. The notion that a governing body of individuals can tell me what books, films,…
