When I was working tech support for Atari stores would send the customers back to the manufacture for refunds and replacements all the time. A few chains would even tell customers it was illegal to give an exchange or refund and they would have to take it up with us. "But the clerk said due to anti-piracy laws we would…
I've owned 3 Cintiqs. The original 21UX Cintiq which I sold after a few months of use due to the crappy contrast ratio(200:1). Not great for texture work. Then I bought the second model 21UX which was better, sold that one after a few months for money to build a new PC. I then bought the Cintiq 12" 1024x768, but the screen…
Good work, I'm going to mention the things that sticks out the most to me: 1. The ceiling, It is way too bright, and to me sticks out like a sore thumb because of it, I thought it was the default checker pattern in UE4 at first. I would replace it with wooden planks or at least break up the repetitive nature of it by…
zxcman - thanks man! will do! AlecMoody - hey thanks! I actually tried that technique the first time around and then was told by Spark/Brett to make floaters for the tire pieces for something like this. But I am going to redo the tires anyways cause I have the pieces to far apart right now and doesn't look like the…
Theres not much profit to be made picking sure things. Yea, you know the game is going to make X million dollars. All that means is that youll be paying that premium for your futures right off the bat. Im sure this will be nice for the publishers from an accounting standpoint, but its not going to be revolutionary since…
If unity is not synced to max's tangent basis then you might well run into issues. In fact for ideal results, whatever baker you are using should have the same tangent basis as your engine. If this is not the case, you are playing a game of damage limitation by squeezing a round-ish peg into a square-ish hole. For a test,…
I pirate: -Games that I already own for the console, but I want to play it on PC (Fallout 3, I wouldn't buy a game twice anyway) -Games that don't have demos (There's no reason not to have a demo GTA4, especially when you don't know how well it will run on your PC) I don't buy used games since you aren't paying the people…
Metal man, you ARE metal. Love the new stuff. Just out of curiosity what was the kind of res of the stuff you took into Zbrush? Surely you didn't bring that back into max to render? That pillar is the bomb, did you concept it first? Or wing it? I love the amount of instanced detail combined with the unique brick damage.…
Ask her. If she knows what she's doing she'll be able to tell you better than anyone here can. It kind of depends on the rendering engine. If it allows each side of the poly to be lit differently then you're probably ok to go single. 2 planes next to each other back to back would be bit of a challenge to keep them from…
I dig what your trying to do but I feel the wood texture is starting to make it feel really noisy. Try running a Filter/noise/reducenoise on it. From that you might want to do it once more, run a shapen mask then use that result as your bump for normal. Too much noise from the diffuse into the normal creates sandpaper IMO.…
