Depends on your experience (the quality you can put out), and what they want to pay. I just got paid $500 for a logo, however I've heard prices ranging between $50 and $60,000. ($50 would be for amature logos that are not done in vector and the such, 60k for huge corporations and stuff). -

Changing the mesh scale also affects the normals, and can cause these problems as the normals can "point out" more than 1, which is physically the limit. So if you have a mesh scaled at X 50%, Y 50%, Z 350% you'll get too bright speculars etc. -

Hmm. Whatever you decide, keep an eye out for sales!! I managed to snag a Deathadder with a $50 steam gift card included. I kinda view it as I'll spend $50 on steam at some point in the next few months, so more or less a $20 mouse instead of $70 :D -

Ask for 50% up front, then at the end show the client screenshots of you work and request the other 50%. Then send him the files. Mention this in your contract. Your contract doesn't have to be fancy. Just write what you are going to do for your client and your name, his name, and signatures. -

Really appreciate it! :) I do agree with what you are saying about the texel density being off, it's still something I need to work on in my opinion. Can you elaborate on that? I'm genuinely curious because there's a 50/50 chance of my heading back to Modo this year. I thought opensubdiv made it so you can see edge weighting in most 3D apps even if you did it in a different app. This video shows what I'm talking about: https://vimeo.com/21625869 -
